On January 22th 2009 Philips and VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland had the grand opening of the InnoHub Nordic & Baltic countries in the premises of Espoo’s Active Life Village, Finland
The opening was attended by over 150 visitors, representing Finland’s government, industrial and academic world. On behalf of Philips, Prof. dr. ir. Elke den Ouden gave a speech in which she explained the focus areas of this InnoHub, and the reasons for its establishment in the Helsinki area. On behalf of VTT Ph.D. Tapio Koivu emphasized the importance for VTT to be a partner in the InnoHub. After the lectures the visitors were invited to visit the InnoHub, where Philips and VTT representatives explained the InnoHub concept. Besides, demonstrations were given of state-of-the-art products and new developments in the area of healthcare, well-being and life-style.
